COMING SOON!

We are thrilled to announce that we have taken the first step toward the goal of offering a program in Registered Nursing at Davis University.

This program is approved by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools and the Ohio Board of Nursing. It is pending approval from the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission.

The new associate degree in registered nursing program is based on the metaparadigm concepts of nursing (Person, Health, Environment, and Nursing) and the core concepts for nursing practice as organized by Jean Giddens (2017) under three categories: Health Care Recipient Concepts, Health and Illness Concepts, Professional Nursing and Health Care Concepts.

These concepts provide the foundation and structure of the associate degree nursing curriculum. Upon completion of Davis University associate degree in registered nursing program, graduates will be equipped to enter the healthcare field with the skills needed to assist patients in a variety of ways. Graduates will be prepared to provide client care that is based on the knowledge acquired from the biological, behavioral, social and nursing sciences by utilizing the nursing process, consisting of five sequential steps of client-centered care: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Graduates will be prepared to implement health promotion, health maintenance, health restoration and illness prevention activities, in partnership and collaboration with the clients, families, and other member of the multidisciplinary team in a variety of healthcare settings.
